the amount of mind-blowing I experienced when it was pointed out to me that "in order for kids to grow up confident you have to mirror their own confidence back to them" is honestly inconceivable
I'm kinda angry at myself for not realizing this sooner: kids learn and create their personality by mirroring actions, if you want your kids to learn what you want them to learn, you have to mirror it back to them all the time
